Hi There, I’m Scott Friesen, a UX Designer and Illustrator based in the Pacific Northwest.
In high school, I discovered design magazines in the 'restricted shelves' behind the counter at my school library and my head exploded. The beautiful photography, clever logos, luscious illustrations… I got lost in all of it. I somehow managed to charm the librarian into letting me spend most of my free time back in those shelves.
I have always been fascinated by visual expression, art and design. I’ve turned that into almost three decades of professional experience as a graphic designer, art director and partner in a small branding agency, working on all aspects of developing and producing creative and branding campaigns for a variety of clients. I continue to use my skills to listen and empathize with users first, do the research to uncover insights, and then let that guide us to creative solutions.
I love seeing new ideas come to life across different forms of media. I bring passion, enthusiasm, teamwork, and an eye for detail to all aspects of creative work. I believe strong visuals and sharp copy should go hand-in-hand, and am willing to go the extra mile to achieve excellent content that informs, engages and delights.
Outside of Figma, you’ll find me out exploring the forest service roads and trails of our beautiful Upper Left Corner, or with my nose stuck in another design magazine.
